The Mosque Of King

A dear friend of mine, Zia, went on a trip to Lahore and Islamabad in last week of December 2015. Upon returning, he shared some pictures of his trip with me.

I asked his permission about sharing those pictures on my blog and he granted it on one condition: mark his name on the picture. I said okay and inserted him name on the pictures he took.

So, this post is first in probably a multiple part series I will publish in coming days. In this episode, we are taking a trip to Badshahi Mosque aka The Mosque of King which is located in Lahore.

Commissioned by sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1670s, this mosque is one of Pakistan’s biggest mosque and an architectural wonder. The mosque can accommodate more than 1,00,000 worshipers at a time. Now that’s huge.

The photos are beautiful – all of them – and some are stunners. See my e-mail: I shall need a presentation for my reader – where the towns stand, etc. Otherwise, it should be a great success. Talented photographer!!
