3,652 Days

That’s 10 years to be precise, including two leap years. And today, this number of 3,652 is very special for me.

Because 10 years ago today, which was January 20th 2006, I got married!!!!

The Day We Got Married

Yup, there you have it!! The Surprise I was talking about since last week, this is it!!

10 years, a decade I have spent with my lovely wife Jia. In past 10 years, we have gone through so much.

We shared many happy times together, supported each other when things didn’t went smoothly, rejoiced when Uzair stepped in our lives (still rejoicing over it) and so much more.

I’m truly thankful to Jia for her constant support and love for me, despite all the flaws I possess. Yes, I’m not a perfect husband, I may never be a one. I still do many things the way I like it, despite Jia’s concerns on them. But this hadn’t stopped her from being standing next to me when I need her to be.

In fact, so many times, Jia was standing right beside me, even when I didn’t asked her to be. Jia is keeping my home filled up with all her love and care from day one and that’s what I love about her.

Let me tell you a common thing about Pakistani husbands. They, which also include me, don’t express their love to their wives as openly as western husbands . Okay, some may say it openly in public but you can count those guys on fingers.

Rest of the bunch keep their feelings inside, locked away completely. I might be a one. I admit that I haven’t said to Jia “I Love You” as often as I should but I believe that my actions weighs more than my words (scroll up to see the title of my blog and you will understand).

Uzair Day One

That’s what I really believe in. My actions shows how I love and care for my dear wife and I respect all those things she has done, or even doing right now, for me and our family.

Jia knows it very well too. I give Jia all the respect she deserve because she is the one who is keeping my home, my son and eventually my life in a smooth shape.

10 years is a long time. A decade of not only living together but also caring and supporting each other. That’s what the real meaning of husband and wife relationship is because its not just about living together or seeing each other every day. Its about building a platform, a base for a family where weΒ support and care for each other.

Ever since Uzair stepped in our lives, Jia and I have become more supportive for each other. I take care of Uzair when Jia had to make a trip to market or when she is busy in work around home. Uzair spends the whole day at home with Jia when I go out for work. So when I return home everyday, I play with Uzair, so that Jia can relax. We both care for each other and this is how we live by.

So, as we step into our 10th year of marriage, we look forward for more love and happiness in our lives.

Happy Wedding Anniversary, Jia!

Note: Sorry for the blurry pictures but it was done on purpose

Reblogged this on Blog of Hammad Rais and commented:

In response to Kate’s Friday Fun for this week, I’m re-blogging an old post of mine I published exactly 3 years ago on January 20th, 2016.

That post was about spending a decade/10 years/3,652 days with my lovely wife Jia.

And since today marks our 13th wedding anniversary, I thought it would be great to read out all the thoughts I wrote 3 years ago about my life with Jia, what she means to me and the way she makes me feel.

You can read it also, along with me πŸ™‚
