Post I Like : As the Sun Goes Down

To find out that someone is taking Fast in Ramadan, despite being a non-Muslim, is as much as surprising for me as it can be for you.

But Aysa, a good blogging friend of mine decided to give Fasting a try this year and I felt very much amazed by this act of her.

Despite struggling in her first day of Fasting, she decided to continue and eventually saw the wonderfulness in not just restricting yourself from eating or drinking for a day but also how much easiness it can bring to your mind and soul.

Read out about Aysa’s wonderful Fasting experience by clicking below.

Word of advice: In case if you feel motivated by Aysa’s experience and decide to give Fasting a try, I would advise you not to until you are 100% sure, both physically and mentally.

Though as not as strict as Ramadan, Christians may choose to fast during Lent. I always feel cleansed and focused upon important things and upon my faith. Our fast is different: we may eat small quantities of food and drink during the day – something like a bowl of rice and glasses of water. The equivalent of what we do not eat we five to the poor as a way to share with the most destitute. In fact, the three pillars of Lent are fasting, sharing and praying. No other words for me but feeling cleansed and more open to others and God’s word.

Inner cleansing is the basic purpose fasting as in Islam we believe that a practice of one month is something that should be followed for the rest of the year. We only fast for one month and beside fasting, we restrict ourselves from many worldly obsessions during the month. We too share our food with those in need and understand the importance of what we have.

Hi Hammad, thank you so much for the shout out! I have been learning something too over the past few days from this experience which I will be sharing later on. But thank you once again!
