That’s how he used to pronounced it!
How about I take you down my personal memory lane today?
Once upon a time, when I was a 10th grade kid, there was a physics teacher in my school. A gentle guy in his mid 30’s back then, he was kind-hearted and supportive to his students in many ways.
But those aren’t the only reasons for which I still remember him 🙂
During his lectures, he always used to pronounce word “vertical” as “vatical“.
Me and my classmates were quick learners, so we decided to use this mispronunciation of vertical into our own daily conversation.
Of course, we didn’t made fun of him on his face but we used to mimic his style whenever we were hanging outside classroom or school.
I especially remember one particular scene when during our 10th grade class picnic to the beach, I wrote down the word “vatical” on sand!
Earlier this week, when I read Debbie Symth’s One Word Sunday Challenge of Vertical on her blog, that physics teacher and his “vatical” popped in my mind instantly.
These 6 iron bars, “vatically” standing against the backdrop of clear blue sky, is my little tribute to that physics teacher.
