Pull Up A Seat – Old Timers

The last riders!

Several old Bedford buses are still operational in Karachi, They are not so comfortable and drive quite slowly as well.

Before the age of car-pooling and ride hailing services, buses like this one were quite common.

I used to ride on them in my school and college days. The seats aren’t comfy at all and can only accommodate 2 persons.

Rest would have to take the ride while grabbing the upside bar and endure bumps and breaks all by themselves.

And many times, I even took rode them while carrying items in my one hand and grabbing the upside bar with my other hand.

But back then, I was young and these buses were getting old.

Now, I’m getting old and these buses are far more older than me but they are still running around.

They were clearly built to last. I like the colors and the wood, its very classic, but also cheerful.

The interior and exterior art of buses and trucks in my country is one of a kind. Google for Pakistani truck art and see for yourself.
Thank you so much for liking this 🙂

Because of doing reverse engineering on such things. Tearing them apart, to understand them completely and then reassemble them as they were, with modifications as per need.

I remember those, also nearly every commercial vehicle in the U.K. was a Bedford. As a child 1954- to 1966, I thought they came from Bedfordshire.
